I have been talking recently about value. Value is referring to black and white. Most people can see colors, but can you imagine everything in value? I had to take a self portrait, rip it into sections, and recreate the missing pieces using only values. Just like in the 2 Minute Selfies blog I posted earlier, I could not use lines. I picked out the dark colors and shaded them in and shaded in the highlighted areas softer. The first one I did was simply with pencil. However, the second one I tried to recreate with watercolor.
